Overview

The hydraulically actuated test fixture is engineered to provide convenience, consistency, and efficiency when conducting tests in accordance with ASTM D7078 standards for understanding the shear properties of fiber-reinforced composites. In this test, a tensile force is applied to both ends of the specimen, generating concentrated shear stress in the middle section, where 90-degree notches are placed. Strain is typically measured using a ±45° biaxial strain gauge or a non-contact video extensometer.
